How many members are in congress? 535. There are 100 senators, and 435 members of the House of Representatives. Their are 365 men in the House Of Representatives and 70 women. Their are 86 men in the Senate and 14 women. These are the people who determine what is and what is not to be in our great country. It is these people who decide the fate of every American family. It is these Congressmen and women who have created all the good things we enjoy everyday in life.
Ok, so some of those decisions have not been so great. So what do you want to do about it? I'll tell you what I think. I think the American people are not stupid and we should be listening to what they have to say. Some of them have some pretty sound ideas for the recovery of our failing nation. I think there are millions of people who have some pretty good ideas on how to fix America. Some of those ideas may be a little shaky and maybe even a little weird but we all have ideas and opinions and I think they should be heard. I would like to see a place where we, as members of the greatest nation in the world can speak our mind and let others know how we would fix our situation. It should be a website where solutions and thoughts could be sent for evaluation by an impartial group and any good ideas forwarded on to the House of Congress. That would mean that a new committee of reliable people would need to be created for the purpose of the evaluations but it might just provide us with some good and easy answers. Anyone could simply email their ideas for evaluation and possible forwarding. It would not be just a place just for the elite but a place for the real "Joe the plumber". A place for the average retail worker and construction worker to add their two cents. It should be a website where you do not need to have a membership to state your opinion. It should be free and available to all Americans. This site should have rules. Rules that say that it is strictly for ideas and not for advertising oneself or ones own product. Any email that contained a link to anything not supporting the idea would be eliminated. This kind of site should be for the sole purpose of helping our homeland and the people in it. Hey, that sounds like a good idea right there. I might build a site like that myself. I could call it something like "We the People" or "We The People Speak". What do you think? Would it work? Would you send your thoughts and solutions? Why not? It is a chance to be heard and who knows, your idea may be the one that stirs up the floor in the House of Congress.
